National Rally to #EndGunViolence

  • U.S. Capitol Building West Lawn (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join Pastor Pfleger, Chicago families, and other gun violence prevention activists at the National Rally to #EndGunViolence to pressure Congress to pass gun safety laws on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:30pm on the West Lawn at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC—after the 10am House Judiciary Committee hearing on assault weapons ban.

The week of July 28 through August 4, 2019, our country saw four mass shootings. This does not include the shootings in Chicago on the weekend of Aug 3rd where eight were killed and 47 wounded. America continues to ignore the easy access and love affair with guns that has blood flowing on its streets. It is time to unite together to put pressure on Congress to stop ignoring this public health crisis and hold Congress accountable for not taking action in passing common sense gun safety laws.

We must demand that Congress pass legislation to guarantee our constitutional right to live!

#NoBusinessWithICE: Close the Camps!

  • NYPL The New York Public Library (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

*NOTE: March will step off at 12:15pm sharp! Meet between the two lion statues on the steps of the library*

Children are caged in concentration camps and ICE is terrorizing our communities, all while private corporations continue to provide the support ICE needs to rip families apart. At the end of the day, private companies provide facilities, transportation, tech, research, and myriad other forms of support to this violent institution almost completely under the radar.

Join us for a march and direct action targeting a company that profits at the expense of immigrant lives.

We DEMAND that private companies stop being complicit in the horrific violence against immigrant communities. We DEMAND that private companies cancel all contracts with ICE and withdraw all support that allows the violent institution to continue to carry out its bloody mission.

We DEMAND that private companies sign the pledge to say #NoBusinessWithICE: https://www.lahuelga.com/abolishice#take-pledge

We need every single one of you in the streets with us! Please sign up for a non-violent direct action training and to volunteer with us at www.closethecampsnyc.com.

No Wall, Hell No! Trump/Pence Must Go!

  • 33rd Street station (SEPTA) 33rd & Market, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104 (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Trump has not caved, his regime is not on the brink of collapse, and his agenda has not been constrainedly by the new Democratic House. We need to stop relying on a Democratic Party leadership that ‘agrees’ with Trump on Border security, who is begging to throw money at the border patrol and ICE and every kind of anti-immigrant operation except a literal wall. The only force that can stop fascism is us, the people in our millions. Will you join us in the streets on February 16th to raise this demand? Can your organization endorse this demonstration? DM us to let us know how you can participate.

Indigenous People’s March – Stand With Us

On January 18, 2019 we are uniting Indigenous peoples across the world to stand together to bring awareness to the injustices affecting Indigenous men, women and children. Indigenous peoples from North and South America, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean are a target of genocide. Currently, many Indigenous people are victims of voter suppression, divided families by walls and borders, an environmental holocaust, sex and human trafficking and police and military brutality with little or no resources and awareness of this injustice. We Must Unite and Help!!

We Will Not Go Away- Rally At Tornillo

Tornillo continues to expand. The contract which was set to end in December has once again been extended. As you read this, more tents are being constructed, more children are being brought in. The children in Tornillo are being intentionally separated from their families by the government creating more hoops for sponsors to jump through. Meanwhile, these children are being detained for weeks, months. Many crossed the border unaccompanied to come to live with a relative, and some crossed with an aunt or uncle as their care giver and were forcibly separated from them and sent to detention.

Recently, we have seen the Trump administration say that there may be more tent cities. Tornillo is not the exception, it is the blueprint for what is to come.

That is why we must SHUT IT DOWN!

Angry about families being ripped apart at the border?
It's happening here, too.

The last Wednesday of each month is a day that translators are available at the County Courthouse. Many non-English speakers are scheduled for court on that day, typically appearing to pay minor fines for misdemeanors, etc.

We will be there on Wednesday, November 28th to deter I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
